We had one of our favorite house guest staying with us this past week while her mother is off gallivanting the globe! You may even know them from Hannah Shenanigan’s. Okay so maybe Beth isn’t really gallivanting the globe but is visiting her eldest daughter who is serving with the peace corps in Jordan and visiting some of the surrounding areas! I hear they are having quite an adventure and the really good news is that they aren’t actually anywhere near the firing rockets!
Hannah has grown quite a bit since the last time I saw her so much so that I am now shorter than she is…story of my life!! My girls look up to Hannah and not just literally. Carley and Macey would spend every second of every day with her if they could. However she isn’t use to having two rambunctious munchkins around ALL THE TIME! I always try to make sure when Hannah comes that she has a hide away to retreat to when she has had enough of them!! I totally sympathize as I have been known to find my own hide-a-way from time to time! Hannah didn’t really retreat very much a matter of fact she was a great role model and very helpful! Hannah even managed to get Carley, who doesn’t really like to color, to do so for a long time and even got her to cover more than a small spot on the paper. (Go Hannah!) We also learned that Macey loves to color almost as much as Hannah.
And mom…..just in case you didn’t know it, your Bird is missing you a bit, so we tried to threw in a few distractions! We swam, colored, watched a movie, dressed up, attended some therapies, played detectives among other things! One night we went out to eat with our poker run friends and checked out all of Illusions Motorcycles! If you girl decides to be a Harley riding gal with a really cool, loud and fast motorcycle…..I had nothing to do with it……. HONEST! She did a great job with the girls this week and even helped me out!
We went bowling the morning before dad came and even though I use to bowl on a league had even had bumpers I am here to confess that your girl beat the socks off every single Saunders girl! That’s right with a fantastic score of 121! I meant to get a picture of all of us at the alley but we knew James was waiting back at the house. However I did get the bowling alley to print the score sheet so our reigning champion could take it home and brag!! ;-)
We are going to miss her and for those of you who are our friends on face book…..
I did return her without ransom… reluctantly!
